Construction Site Interpretation

How to read the perpetual works of the city: distinguishing genuine progress from its appearance, interpreting the silence of a stalled site, and forecasting the next excavation.

Learning Outcomes

  • 01Read the lifecycle stage of a site from its barricades alone.
  • 02Distinguish active work from the appearance of work.
  • 03Interpret the meaning of a revised, then re-revised, timeline.
  • 04Forecast where the road will next be opened.
